Model railroading involves a wide range of skills that every modeler can learn. One of the great advantages of joining a club is the availability of the advice and expertise of experienced modelers. The hobby can take in a wide variety of technical and practical skills including but certainly not limited to: carpentry, scenery making, electrical wiring, electronic installation, assembly and painting of model kits, computer programming, and the fun of running trains. In addition, other valuable skills can be acquired such as: finger and hand dexterity, patience, problem solving, research for historical railroad data, and much more. Something fairly new to model railroading is 3D printing wherein, complete structures can be generated using a computer and 3D printer. Our club has recently acquired both a resin printer and a filament printer.
